Devan is an Indian film actor, who though started with lead roles, tranformed himself to chractor roles, villian roles etc. His debut movie was Naadam. He appeared in lead roles in the movies like Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Oozham, Aramyakam etc. His villian roles in Ekalvyan, FIR etc were highly acclaimed. Devan is married to film maker Ramu Kariat's daughter 'Suma' and they have a daughter 'Lakshmi'.
