FAHADH FAASIL

Fahadh Faasil is one of the emerging Superstars in the Malayalam Film Industry. He is the son of famous film maker Faasil.

Fahadh proved his excellencies with his own developed attitude and boldness before Cinema and acting. In this very small age, he proved himself to be a great artist.

Personal life:

Fahadh was born to Faasil and Rosina. He has two sisters Ahameda and Fathima, and a brother, Ismail. On 20th Jan 2014, it was announced on his Facebook page that he got engaged to Malayalam actress Nazriya Nazim. The marriage took place on 21 August 2014.

Early life:

He completed his schooling from SDV Central School Alleppey, Lawrence School Ooty, Choice School Thripunithara. Later he went on to pursue his degree from SDC Alleppey,  M.A.Philosophy from Miami University. He made his debut in "Kaiyethum Doorath" (2002), directed by his father Faasil.

Career:

The first film of Fahad was Kaiyethum Doorath (2002) which was directed by his father, director Faasil. He pursued his studies in the United States and returned in 2009 to act in the film Kerala Cafe (2009), conceived by director Ranjith. In Sameer Thahir's directorial debut Chappa Kurishu, a thriller in which that film was acclaimed as controversial, causing a great stir in the industry. His next film, 'Akam', a contemporary adaptation of Malayatoor Ramakrishnan's psycho-thriller novel Yakshi, had him playing Srinivas, a young architect, who starts suspecting that his beautiful wife is a yakshi.

22 Female Kottayam is a revenge film. He played the role of a pimp. The film earned him the label of 'Emraan Hashmi of Malayalam cinema'. Fahadh Faasil was lucky enough to handle various types of characters in the film industry. In his next film, Lijin Jose's Friday, he acted as an auto rickshaw driver. Fahad has also acted in Gangs of Vadakkumnathan, one of the five featurettes from the portmanteau film D Company.

He next acted in cinematographer Rajeev Ravi's directorial debut Annayum Rasoolum. He has also starred in Lijo Jose Pellissery's 'Amen'. V. K. Prakash's 'Netholi Oru Cheriya Meenala' and Salam Bappu's directorial  'Red Wine'. Fahadh has also starred in various super hits like A. V. Sasidharan's 'Olipporu', Anil Radhakrishnan Menon 'North 24 Kaatham', Sathyan Anthikad 'Oru Indian Pranayakadha', Amal Neerad 'Iyobinte Pusthakam', Dileesh Pothan's 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram' and many more.

Awards and Accolades:

Fahad won the 2011 Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor for his performance in the films Akam and Chaappa Kurishu.

He then went on to feature in critically acclaimed films such as 22 Female Kottayam (2012), Diamond Necklace (2012) Annayum Rasoolum (2013) and Amen (2013).

He also won Asiavision Movie Awards for Performer of the Year for 22 Female Kottayam.

He also won the Vanitha Film Awards for Best Actor for 22 Female Kottayam and Diamond Necklace.

TTK Prestige-Vanitha Film Awards was bestowed to him for Special Performance Award 2013 (Amen, North 24 Kaatham, Oru Indian Pranayakatha)

Asianet Film Award for Youth Icon of the year - Padmasree Bharat Dr. Saroj Kumar, 22 Female Kottayam and Diamond Necklace.

It's very clear that this young star has miles to go in the Malayalam Film Industry and also in the other film industries. He presently has two Tamil movies namely Velaikkaran and Aneethi Kathaigal in his kitty.
