Biography

Paris Lakshmi, born Myriam Sophia Lakshmi Quinio, is a French-born classical dancer and actress who has made Kerala her home. Born in Aix-en-Provence, France, she developed a deep interest in Indian culture and classical dance from a young age. She began learning Bharatanatyam and later became widely known by her stage name, Paris Lakshmi.

Paris Lakshmi first entered Malayalam cinema through Big B (2007), appearing in the song sequence “O January.” She later gained widespread recognition for playing Michelle in the popular film Bangalore Days (2014). Her other notable films include Salt Mango Tree, Olappeeppi, Tiyaan, Bangalore Naatkal and Kalamandalam Hyderali.

A passionate performer, Paris Lakshmi has trained and performed in several dance styles, including Bharatanatyam, ballet, jazz, contemporary dance, flamenco and hip-hop. She has performed in India and abroad and is particularly admired for her dedication to Indian classical arts.

Paris Lakshmi is married to renowned Kathakali artist Pallippuram Sunil. Together, they run the Kalashakthi School of Arts in Vaikom, Kerala, where they promote Indian classical dance and other art forms. Their artistic collaborations, including Sangamam and Krishna Mayam, combine their shared passion for Bharatanatyam and Kathakali.

Today, Paris Lakshmi is regarded as one of the most recognizable foreign-born artists associated with Kerala’s cultural and artistic landscape. Her journey from France to Kerala reflects her deep love for Indian culture, dance and Malayalam cinema.
