Jameela Malik

Jameela Malik, an early actress in Malayalam cinema, has passed away. She was the first Malayali woman to graduate in acting from the Pune Film Institute. Her debut film was "Raging," released in 1972. She also acted in Tamil films. Jameela Malik passed away at her relative's home in Palode, Thiruvananthapuram.

Born in 1946 in Muthukulam, Alappuzha, Jameela Malik entered the film industry around 1970 and acted alongside prominent figures like Adoor Bhasi and Prem Nazir. She also played leading roles in Tamil films such as "Atishayaragam" and "Lakshmi." Jameela Malik appeared in several television serials on Doordarshan, including "Sagarika," "Kayaru," and "Manushya Bandhangal," and wrote some plays for All India Radio.

Jameela Malik was married in 1983, but the relationship ended after a year. Her son is Ansar Malik.
