Joy Chemmachel

Joy Chemmacheral (Joji Lucas), a prominent writer and influential figure in the cultural and social spheres, has passed away at the age of 55. He served as the President of the Chicago Knanaya Catholic Society, the Executive Vice President of KCSSNA, and the Vice President of FOKKAN.

Joy Chemmacheral was also the Magazine Editor at CMS College and was the founding President of the Illinois Malayalee Association, serving two terms as president. He was honored with the Best Farmer Award at the recent FOMA conference.

He was the son of the late Lucas and Allie Teacher from Neendoor. His wife, Shaila, is a member of the Kithangoor Thiruvananthapuram family. He is survived by his children: Lucas, Gio, Allie, and Mary.
