The famous Malayalam cine artist C.P. Khadeeja (77) passed away. She died at her residence Kattapuram which is at the Vaduthala Swagatham Road, near the Chinmaya School at Vaduthala in Eranakulam. She was undergoing treatment for lung cancer. She is the wife of deceased K. V. Mathew.
She was one of the six children of deceased Moideen and Pathayi of Chittethupadi, Perumbavoor. She has acted in over hundreds of movies and each of the character she portrayed was par excellence. She was a shining star during the 60's and 70's. In the 1968 movie called Viruthan Shanku, Malayalam's first full length comedy, Khadeeja acted alongside Adoor Bhasi and Thikkurissy as the character of Ichikkavu.
Asuravithu (1968), Velutha Kathreena (1968), Thulabharam (1968), Vilakkappetta Bandhangal (1969), Kannoor Deluxe (1969), Kandavarundo (1972) and many more are the movies in which Khadeeja acted.
Thenmavin Kombath (1994) is the last movie she acted. Late Vinni, Leena, Sony, Teddy, Stency, Late Sophie are her children and Shajini, James, Vincent, Ragi, Priya, and Noel are her children-in-law. Khadeeja's dead body is safely stored in the Ernakulam General Hospital mortuary.
