Madathipparambil Seshaniyyar Venkatrama Iyer (10 October 1941 – 8 March 2006) known by his stage name M. S. Thripunithura died in a train here due to a heart attack. MS Thrippunithura, 60, had come from Chennai and boarded a link train to Kochi. He was coming back after a serial shooting in Thalassery. He was found unconscious in the upper berth of the train. Fellow passengers took him to the Railway hospital here, but the doctors found him dead on arrival.
Starting his career as a stage actor, Thrippunithura shifted to films in the 1980s. He soon excelled as a supporting actor and a comedian and went on to receive several awards. He acted in more than 300 films. But his role in Kavyanjali, a teleserial coming in Surya TV made him popular among the family audience. He is survived by his wife Bhagyalakshmi and daughter's Poornima, Pushpa and Pooja.
