TK Balachandran(2 February 1928 Died‎: ‎15 December 2005 ) was a famous actor and at the same time a producer. He acted in more than 400 films. The Tamil film ‘Jathakam’ was his first movie. ‘Aniyathi produced by Maryland was his first Malayalam movie. Then he acted in a double role in the film ‘Poothali’. ‘Poothali’ was the first Malayalam movie portrayed an actor in a double role. His famous films as an actor were ‘Christmas Rathri’, ’Snehaseema’, ’Sreeramapattabhishekam’. In 1973 he became a producer by the movie ‘Poimughangal’. He also produced ‘TP Balagopalan MA’ which won Mohanlal the state award for the first time. He also wrote the story for 8 films and dialogue for 16 films. The last film he acted was ‘SeethaKalyanam’. Vishalakshi is his wife. Actor Vanchiyoor Madhavan Nair is his brother. He was also the president of the South Indian Film Chamber.
