Shyam Pushkaran to pen the script for Kamal Haasan’s 237th film; directed by Anbariv Masters

Kamal Haasan’s 237th film has officially begun. The script is being written by acclaimed Malayalam screenwriter Shyam Pushkaran, while the direction is handled by the noted South Indian action choreographers, Anbariv Masters. Having choreographed action sequences for several blockbusters such as KGF, Leo, Vikram, Kaithi, Kabali, Salaar, and RDX, Anbariv is making their directorial debut with none other than Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, which has already generated great excitement among film enthusiasts.

Shyam Pushkaran, who entered the film industry as a screenwriter with the superhit film Salt & Pepper (alongside his friend Dileesh Pothan), has since written scripts for numerous critically acclaimed and commercially successful films.

He won the National Award in 2016 for the film Maheshinte Prathikaaram. Along with Dileesh Pothan, he co-founded the production house Working Class Hero. His other notable screenwriting credits include Mayaanadhi, Kumbalangi Nights, Joji, Thankam, and Rifle Club.

Apart from screenwriting, Shyam Pushkaran has also received attention as an actor, notably for his performance as Paampavalan in the film Premalu.

Now, for the first time, Shyam Pushkaran is writing a script in Tamil — and that too for Kamal Haasan — a collaboration that has raised expectations among fans of both the actor and the writer.
