After 32 years, the Adoor Gopalakrishnan–Mammootty duo has reunited for the film Padayatra. The film, produced as the eighth production venture of the Mammootty Company, was launched today with traditional pooja ceremonies. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are jointly written by Adoor Gopalakrishnan and K. V. Mohankumar. Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films will handle the film’s theatrical release in Kerala.

This marks another collaboration between Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Mammootty after Anantharam, Mathilukal, and Vidheyam. Mammootty had won two National Awards for his performances in Mathilukal and Vidheyam, both directed by Adoor. Further details about the film’s cast will be announced soon.
