Lijo Jose Pellissery's directorial debut 'Nayakan', starring Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead role, is set for a grand re-release after 16 years. Originally released in 2010, the film will return to theatres on September 4 in a fully restored 4K version.

Indrajith portrays Varadanunni, a Kathakali artist who embarks on a journey of vengeance against those responsible for destroying his family. Written by P. S. Rafeeque, the film also features an ensemble cast including Thilakan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Dhanya Mary Varghese, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Lalu Alex, Kalasala Babu, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sreejith Ravi, Anil Murali, Salu K. George, Shivaji, Kiran Raj, Tosh Christy, Majeed, Rajeev Kalamassery, and Ambika Mohan. The film was produced by Anoop Johnson Karedan under the banner of Illuminati Films.
