The shooting of ‘Chadang’, directed by debutant Abhijith Sarya and starring Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead role, commenced on Sunday, August 30. The film began with a pooja ceremony held at Sree Narayaneshwari Temple in Ponnurunni, Vyttila, Kochi.

Vineeth Sreenivasan, actor Suresh Krishna, the film’s heroine Meenakshi Madhavan, producers Dolwin Kuriakose, Shabeer Malavettath and Delta Mani, director Abhijith Sarya, Shahi Kabir, co-director Shifna, and other members of the crew jointly lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the proceedings.

Director Abhijith Sarya’s parents, Sreedharan and Shobha, performed the switch-on ceremony, while Vineeth Sreenivasan gave the first clap.

The film is being produced by Dolwin Kuriakose, Delta Mani and Shabeer Malavettath under the banners of Theatre of Dreams, M. Star Entertainment and Dream Merchant. Set against the backdrop of a family home in Malabar, the film is described as a complete family horror-humour entertainer.

Giving equal importance to horror and humour, the film features Vineeth Sreenivasan, Suresh Krishna, Sona Nair, Jagadish, Nihal Nizam, Biju Sopanam and Sreejith Babu in prominent roles. Meenakshi Madhavan is the female lead.
