Mukesh's wife is Methil Devika, a dancer.
Mukesh (who's boyhood name was Mukesh Babu) is the son of famous stage actor, director and drama troupe organizer, the late O. Madhavan. Mukesh’s mother Vijayakumari was also a popular stage actress and once the winner of the Kerala State award for best stage actress. Mukesh, who hails from Pattathanam in Kollam town, did his schooling at Infant Jesus Anglo Indian High School in Tangasseri and took his Batchelor of Science degree from Sree Narayana College in Kollam. He is also a Law graduate from the Law Academy, Thiruvananthapuram.
